11 Mar 2012
Adams & Remers has acted on the sale of Adgen Energy, the renewable energy project development company, to Tamer Energy.
Tamar Energy was formally launched on 22 February and proposes to develop a network of over 40 anaerobic digestion plants to generate 100MW of green electricity over the next five years.
Tamar Energy is backed by a strong investor group that includes Sainsbury’s, Duchy of Cornwall, Lord Rothschild, RIT Capital Partners, Fajr Capital, Sustainable Technology Investments, Low Carbon Limited, the management team of Tamar Energy and other private investors.
Simon Jones, a Partner in Adams & Remers’ Corporate team said: “This is a significant transaction in the renewable energy market. Anaerobic digestion is a proven technology that offers many advantages over and above the generation of green electricity.
“The acquisition of Adgen, with its substantial pipeline of projects, will give Tamar Energy the ability to rapidly achieve its scale objectives.”
