Adams & Remers advises on Patisserie Valerie sale
19 Sep 2006
Adams & Remers achieved the biggest deal in its history in September by advising on the sale of the London-based restaurant chain, Patisserie Valerie, to Risk Capital Partners in a multi-million pound transaction. Patisserie Valerie and its licensees have seven outlets in the capital, including one in Knightsbridge, recently named as Best London Restaurant in Egon Ronay’s Good Food Guide.
A team of six Adams & Remers lawyers worked on the sale for over three months. The buyer, a UK-based venture capital organisation whose members include Chairman of Channel 4 Luke Johnson, was represented by London lawyers Pinsent Masons. Enzo Scalzo helped build up Patisserie Valerie over the last twenty years, and described the sale as “hard work but worth it in the end.”
Head of corporate at Adams & Remers, Matthew Searle, said “It should be a great comfort to Sussex- based businesses that they don’t need to go to London any more for legal and accountancy advice. There is quality on the doorstep”.
